Deceptive 'Rapture' Doctrine Dupes Millions.

Ridiculing those who believe and teach what he calls a "secret rapture," Steve Wohlberg issued a media release entitled "Deceptive 'Rapture' Doctrine Dupes Millions" In this release (and I suppose in the book he is promoting) he accuses Christians who believe the Bible teaches the doctrine of the rapture of being spiritually lazy. That accusation, which could not be further from the truth, has become a veritable mantra among the no rapture crowd. Belief in the rapture adds an urgency to the lives and message of Christ to those who "love His appearing."

Destiny Image Publishers, who published Wohlberg's book, is a heretical publisher that promotes the false prophetic movement. Some prophetic leaders overtly discourage serious Bible study calling the Bible an idol, and they hate the very thought of the rapture.

The Bible says that Jesus is coming for those who love His appearing. The no rapture crowd loves this present life, and teach that the return of Christ is retarded by the ungodly condition of the world and that they must help "usher in" His return by winning the world to Him first. It's safe to conclude they feel they have plenty of time, then, before Christ puts in an appearance. Where is the urgency in that? It is the no rapture doctrine, not belief in the rapture, that breeds complacency.

The no rapture crowd is not looking for the return of Christ, they are looking for the rise of the anti-Christ. The Bible says we should be watching for Christ. The no rapture crowd accuses rapture believers of being escapists, not a problem, Jesus was an escapist. Jesus described the horrors of the Great Tribulation and said, "Pray that ye may escape..."

Don't be duped. Do not allow authors like Wohlberg and his ilk steal your faith in an event the Bible teaches will happen, and will take the world by surprise when it does. The Bible does teach a rapture and it won't be a secret! The whole world will know when it happens even if they do not acknowledge it.

Who Are Angels Gathering at the End of the Tribulation if Only the Wicked Are Left After the Rapture?

Question: I am having difficulty with verse 31 of Matthew 24 since if the righteous are raptured prior to the tribulation, who are the elect that the angels are gathering at the end of the tribulation if only the wicked were left after the rapture?

Answer: Jesus answers that question for us in Matthew 13:37-43 which corresponds directly with Matthew 24:31.

It is important here to distinguish between the Children of the Resurrection and the Children of the Kingdom (Matthew 13:38, Luke 20:36).

The Children of the Kingdom are not the resurrected and caught out ones who Jesus called the Children of the Resurrection (Luke 20:35-36).

The Children of the Kingdom will marry and give birth during the millenium. Some will even die (Isaiah 65:20-23).

The Children of the Resurrection will neither marry nor give in marriage but will be as the angels who cannot die (Matthew 22:30,Luke 20:35-36).

The Children of the Resurrection will not need to have angels gather them because they will be changed in a moment--their bodies will become just like Christ's resurrected body. They will become as the angels when their bodies are raised/changed--no angelic gathering will be needed for them (Matthew 22:30, Luke 20:35-36).

The Children of the Kingdom will need angels to gather them because their bodies will not be changed to become like Christ's resurrected body or like the angels. They will enter the millenium in their mortal condition (Isaiah 65:20-23).

Which Bride Could Care Less When She Sees Her Groom?

Question: Which bride could care less she sees her groom?

Answer: The one who does not love him.

I hear from agitated readers on a regular basis who try and convince me that they really love Jesus while at the same time, insist that they could care less when he will appear. For starters, I have a really difficult time believing that anyone who truly loves Jesus could care less when he will appear. But if it is the case, then why does it bother them so much that others do care, and feel it is not only important, but urgent, to know what the scriptures say concerning these things?

I have never before in my lifetime witnessed such an aversion, even hatred, for studying and discussing the coming of the Lord. I believe it is not only a sign of the wicked times we live in, but also a sign that in spite of people professing love for Christ, and perhaps even building an impressive resume of Christian works, these same people seem to love this present world more than they love Christ--and really do not long for his coming at all.

I ask again, which Bride does not long to see her Bridegroom? The scriptures are clear that if we love this present world, the love of God is not in us.

The scriptures are also clear, that there will be a massive departure from the faith taking place in the last days. And if we do not love the truth, then we will believe the lie. And that could end up costing us our souls...if we do not repent quickly.

For that reason, in spite of the opposition, I refuse to be a dumb dog who will not bark. I do not believe it is "craziness," as I have been told, to write about these things. I believe that writing about these things will have the effect of leading some to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, feeding hungry hearts, plucking brands from the fire, and encouraging some to hold on to the truth ever tighter as the shaking grows more violent as the day of Christ approaches. God is allowing the shaking to take place even now, and we need to remind each other that only those things which cannot be shaken loose will remain.

Inordinate affections are causing Christians to be be shaken loose. The soul stealing paradigm shifts that so many are making in this critical hour can only be avoided by receiving a love the truth. Pray to receive a love of the truth.

Satan is about to have his hour. This world is about to become a wilderness. Dark days are coming. Darker than any this world has ever seen or will ever see again. Jesus commanded us to pray that we would be counted worthy to escape all the things that are coming on the earth.

Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved. And for this cause, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie...(2 Thessalonians 2:9-11).

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation that will come upon ALL the world to try them that dwell upon the earth (Revelation 3:10).

For as a snare shall it come, upon ALL them that dwell on the face of the WHOLE earth. Pray always that ye may be accounted worthy to ESCAPE ALL these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man (Luke 21:36).

Pre-Tribulation Desperados Spreading Lies About Fake Rapture

I find it very telling that those who hate the doctrine of the pre-tribulational rapture spend much of their time and energy slandering those who don't. If they have a scriptural leg to stand on, then why aren't they investing those energies contending for the faith by expounding on scripture instead of blasting those who are doing exactly that?

According to some, pre-tribulation desperados are spreading lies concerning a "fake rapture."

I would like to know, for one thing, what a pre-tribulational "desperado" is. And I would also like to know how one can fake a rapture. That would be some feat.

RED FLAGS
It is a common tactic for those who do not love the truth, and who cannot base their position on real facts, to viciously attack that which has a wealth of scriptural evidence to support it. Notice I said "scriptural evidence." Most opponents of scriptural truth not only ignore scripture but seem to elevate profane history to canonical levels. The fact is, they often honor profane history above the Bible and use history to interpret the Bible. That is a serious error. It is the Holy Spirit who leads and guides into all truth--not profane history, and the Bible interprets itself. It is a complete book.

My counsel to anyone with a real desire to know the truth of the Biblical doctrine of the rapture, is to read the scriptures, and for sure don't waste time reading the writings of those who do not use scripture (or use only token smatterings of it) to back up their positions.

Another red flag is anger. There is never any reason to be angry or display what my grandmother called an "ugly" attitude while contending for the faith, and, yes, it is possible to be very polite while at the same time having very "ugly" motives (it's what I call being a barracuda with good manners). Our reason for contending should always be that we can know the truth that will set us free--not to restore the true and right religion (anyone familiar with the Spanish Inquisition?).

If our motive is to set everyone straight, then we have the wrong motive and are in sin to begin with. Sinful motivations skew discernment.

The doctrine of the pre-tribulational rapture has a wealth of scriptural evidence to support it. Many reputable scholars, whose writings are more that worthy of the time and effort it takes to read them, have expounded on the subject. Am I a pre-tribulational desperado?

Pre-tribulational? Yes.

Desperate...? Hardly. For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore COMFORT one another with these words.

Do I Believe In The Rapture?

1 Thessalonians 4, 16 says, For the Lord himself will descend from Heaven with a shout. Have you ever wondered what he will be shouting?

I believe he will be shouting our name! A good example would be when he called Lazarus forth? by name.

I believe that will be the final use of the gift of tongues in this age, one shout, and every believer dead and alive hearing only one thing...his or
her name.

You know, the gift of tongues sometimes includes a miracle of hearing as well as of speaking.

We see that in Acts chapter 2 where the 120 were speaking in unknown tongues, and each person in the crowd (a crowd that numbered in the 1000's heard) only
heard one dialect, the one they spoke.

The Bible tells us Jesus will come with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God.

Why does Christ bring an archangel with him when he returns?

We get a clue in Jude 9 where we read of the archangel, Michael being associated with battle. We see that in Daniel 10:13 as well.

When the body of Moses was raised, Satan was there to oppose his resurrection.

Guess who else was there?

Michael was there.

It is to be expected that Satan will oppose the resurrection when we are raised as well.

The Bible tells us the dead in Christ will rise first, and then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

Paul said, Behold I show you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

One day Jesus will call MY NAME.

Do I believe in the Rapture? Absolutely!

You know, Jesus said by our words, we will be justified, or by our words, we will be condemned. That is a frightening thought for most of us. During the course of a lifetime we speak many words, and we do not always choose our words wisely.

The wisest choice of words we can ever make is to confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is the risen Son of God. If we come to God on those terms, with a truly repentant heart, we are promised eternal life.

A broken and contrite heart, he will not despise.

Here is what it all boils down to. Our God is merciful and loving. He doesn't unnecessarily complicate things. Romans 10:9,10-13 says that if we confess
with our mouth (words), that Jesus is the Son of God, and believe in our hearts
that God raised him from the dead, then...

Rapture: Three Fascinating Discoveries!

"For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered, prior to the Tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins" (On the Last Times, the Antichrist, and the End of the World, by Ephraem the Syrian, A.D. 373)...

Many post-tribulationist writers have attacked the pre-Tribulation Rapture doctrine by claiming that it cannot be true because no Church writer or reformer ever taught this doctrine until approximately 170 years ago.

While the real question for sincere students of Scripture must be whether or not the Bible truly teaches this doctrine, the argument that no one ever saw this "truth" throughout the 1,800 years of Church history has been very effective, causing many Christians to abandon their belief in the pre-Tribulation Rapture.

The Wrath "TO COME"

This reasoning, used in refuting the doctrine of a pre-tribulational rapture, is one of the most common arguments used today, but is it at all biblical?

No. It is not.

Those using this argument are failing to rightly divide the Word of God. Those using this argument do not recognize, or refuse to acknowledge, that the Bible does differentiate between persecution and wrath.

Wrath and persecution are two entirely different things.

Jesus told his followers to expect persecution. He also told them to pray that they would escape "ALL these things" that would come upon ALL who dwell on the face of the WHOLE earth. Was Jesus contradicting himself when he said these things? Of course not. John the Baptist said basically the same thing, only in reverse, when he asked the hypocritical leaders of his day who told them to "flee from (escape from) the WRATH to come?"

Both Jesus and John were referring to the same time period. The "wrath to come" that John referred to and "all these things" that Jesus referred to, are direct references to the dreadful time period called The Great Tribulation. Jeremiah called it, the Time of Jacob's Trouble.

John was subsequently beheaded. He became a martyr. But his martyrdom was not due to the "wrath" that was "to come." That had not, and has not, come yet. Those who belong to Christ have a promise that we will be kept from that horrible time. And Jesus made certain to instruct us to pray to that effect (that we would be found worthy to escape it).

John experienced persecution and martyrdom because he took an unpopular stand for the Word of God. John's arrest and martyrdom were due to persecution--not wrath. The wrath he predicted had not come yet. Jesus spoke of the things that were "coming" after John had already been martyred, and he told his followers to pray they would be counted worthy to ESCAPE all the things that were COMING.

What is coming? WRATH is coming. But to date, since the days Christ walked the earth, that wrath has not come yet. How do we know that? Because the scriptures reveal that when it does come, 75-80% of the world population will be annihilated within the short time span of only 7 years. In all the history of the world, that has never happened yet.

The Bible tells us that the entire world is currently experiencing a time of favor, and has been ever since the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was given. The Time of Favor is that special time the prophet Joel foretold when men would be able to simply call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. This was an absolutely unheard of concept and an impossibility under the Law of Moses.

The time of favor [when men can simply call on the name of the Lord to be saved] will end before the Time of Jacob's Trouble--which is the Great Tribulation [when men must endure to the end to be saved]. And Jesus was specific about the fact that during the horrific time of the Great Tribulation, only those who endure to the end will be saved. Presently, during the accepted time (the time of favor) we CALL on the name of the Lord to be saved.

Calling on the name of the Lord to be saved, and enduring to the end to be saved, are not the same things.

Those who choose to follow Christ in the Great Tribulation will certainly be viciously persecuted, just as many are being persecuted today. However, the massive world death rate (75-80% of the world population before it is over) during the Time of Jacob's trouble will be attributed, not just to persecution, but to the WRATH of the Lamb as well. The Bible tells those of us who belong to Christ, that we are not appointed to wrath. But Jesus said the wrath, when it came, would come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Therefore, if Christ does not come for his Bride before the wrath of God is unleashed during the Great Tribulation, the Bride of Christ will be forced to endure that wrath. The scriptures are clear that the Bride of Christ is not appointed to wrath, will be kept from that awful hour, and people are instructed to pray they will be found worthy to escape it!

Jesus differentiated between persecution and wrath, therefore, so should we.

The fact that followers of Christ have always been persecuted and killed, does not negate the fact that a time of testing and wrath is coming that Jesus said his followers would not be here to endure. He specifically commanded men and women to pray that they would be found worthy to escape...

Matthew 25:1-13 The Midnight Cry

“And the virgins, her companions that follow her, shall be brought unto thee.”

Psalm 45:14-15

"And at midnight, there was a cry made, Behold the bridegroom cometh: go ye out to meet him...and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut...Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour the Son of Man cometh"

Matthew 25:1-13

In Matthew 25:1-13, it is obvious who the bridegroom is. The text plainly says the bridegroom is the Son of Man—Jesus (Matthew 25:10-13). The context also makes it very clear that it is to the virgins that the Midnight Cry is being made (Matthew 25:6-7). So the question is this, who are the virgins?

This writer believes scripture reveals that the virgins in Matthew 25, (the ones who are ready for the bridegroom) do not represent the Bride of Christ—the Church, as is commonly suggested, but are rather, the companions of the bride that we read about in Psalm 45:14.

A common misconception is that the “Midnight Cry” of Matthew 25 is synonymous with “The Shout” we read about in 1 Thessalonians 4:16. It is not. The Lord is descending with a shout in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 when he comes for his bride—the Church. But The Midnight Cry is not being made for the Bride of Christ. Scripture is clear. The Midnight Cry is being made for the Bride’s companions.

Prophecy reveals that the King—Christ—will bring his Queen (the bride of Christ) into his palace (in Heaven). When it is time for the wedding to take place, the companions of the Bride will be brought unto the King as well. (1 Thessalonians, 4:16-18, Psalm 45:14, Matthew 25:6-13).

Jesus is coming for a Bride. He is also coming for her companions—but not both at the same time.

Look closely at what Jesus told us concerning his coming. He said...as in the days of Noah...so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be (Matthew 24:37-39). Just as he brought Noah and his family into the ark before judgment fell in the form of the flood, the Son of Man is coming for his bride before he comes back to earth to judge a world that has rejected him.

As in the days of Noah....

It is wise not to disregard the repeated references our lord makes to "the Days of Noah." That statement is multi-faceted and rich—with much more to look at than simply the sinful, carefree lifestyles Noah's contemporaries lived even as devastating judgment was bearing down on them. We must also observe that, in the days of Noah, the righteous were brought into the ark of safety before judgment came. Also note that the door to that ark remained open for a short time...others could have come on board. It was entirely their choice not to (Genesis 7:1-10).

At midnight a cry was made.... After the bridegroom (the Son of Man) comes for his Bride, the door to the ark, as in the days of Noah, will remain open for a short time. This is so the virgins, the companions of the bride, who will follow after her (Psalms 45:14-15), can also be brought unto the King.

The word of God is specific about every word in scripture being pure and good for reproof, rebuke, exhortation, and instruction in righteousness...every word. That is why we need to pay close attention to the words Jesus used, words like, as in the days of Noah, and words like “midnight.”

Midnight means "halfway through the night."

In John 9:4, Jesus said he must work the works of him that sent him while it is day. For the “night” was coming in which no man could work.

In this passage, Jesus made specific references to light, day and night that provide us with some insight into the pre-appointed times and seasons the Father holds in his hand. It is in John 9:4, that Jesus defines the word "midnight" for us.

The “night,” Jesus is referring to, is the calamitous night of wrath and judgment that is coming on all who dwell on the face of the earth. In Luke 21:35, Jesus called it a snare and said to pray we would be counted worthy to escape…as in the days of Noah…all of the things that would be coming upon the inhabitants of the earth (the kosmos).

Jesus went on to say that he was the light of the world, and that he would continue to be the light of the world, only as long as he was in the world (the kosmos). In other words, as long as Jesus is here, it will be day (John 9:5). When Jesus is no longer here, the inhabitants of the kosmos will find themselves trapped in the season he calls night.

So has the “night” already come? The time when Jesus said no man can work? If that is the case, then why are all who name the name of Christ working right now?

It is because he is here, isn't it?

Jesus is still in the kosmos, because he dwells within all who believe in him. Our bodies are his temple. And because of that, Jesus said that his followers are also the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16). Isn’t that amazing?

It is still day. Jesus is still working in the Kosmos through those who are his dwelling place here on earth.

So when will the "night" begin?

The “night” will begin when Jesus is no longer in the kosmos. He entered the kosmos when he was born of a virgin (Hebrews 1:6). He remains in the kosmos because he lives in those who belong to him (John 14:16-18). And he will leave the kosmos when he descends from Heaven, with a shout, to raise the dead and catch up the bodies of all those who are "in Him"—his Bride (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, Romans 8:23, 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7).

After all those whose bodies are his temple have been brought unto the King, Jesus will no longer be in the kosmos. And by his own definition, night, will have officially begun.

So, when is midnight?

Midnight is halfway through the "night”—which Jesus specified would begin the moment he was no longer in the world—that means, that by midnight, his bride will have been absent from the kosmos for the same length of time that Jesus has been absent from the kosmos (John 9:4-5, Matthew 5:14-16,1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7).

But the exodus from earth does not end there. At the mid-way point, half-way through the "night”—midnight—Jesus says a cry will be made. And the virgins, the Jewish companions of the Bride (which is composed of both Jews and Gentiles), those who are ready, will go in with the bridegroom to the marriage (as in the days of Noah, the door of the ark is still open). After that, the door will be shut (Psalm 45:14, Matthew 25:6-13, Genesis 7:16).

Jesus is coming for his bride. And he is coming for her before the "night” begins. When he returns to earth at the battle of Armageddon, His wife will be coming out of Heaven with him, yes, and the virgins her companions too. And After that, a marriage feast, the likes of which this world has never seen, will be held here on earth (Matthew 22).

The Blessed Hope

What is the blessed hope that is in me? What exactly is it the Bible says I should always be ready to share with anyone who asks (Titus 2:13, 1 Peter 3:15)?

Praise God, it is not only my hope of eternal life--the fact that though I may die, yet shall I live, but it is the additional hope that when this world becomes a wilderness (Isaiah 14:15-16), I will not be on this earth to experience the horrors that will accompany that process (Matthew 24:22).

I know this because when Jesus left, he made a promise to all who love him. He said he was going to prepare a place for us (in Heaven), and that he would come again and receive us to unto himself, that where he is, we may be also (John 14:1-3). I know this because Jesus explicitly promised that he would keep us from the hour of trial that was coming on all them that dwell upon the earth (Revelation 3:10). He also explicitly commanded us to pray that we would be counted worthy to escape all those things that shall come to pass (to be raised from the dead or caught up) and to stand (in Heaven at the judgment seat of Christ) before the Son of Man (Luke 21:34-36, 2 Corinthians 5:10).

If you do not have the Blessed Hope of eternal life and protection from the hour of trial that surely is coming, call on Jesus right now to save you. We have a promise that all who call on the God of Heaven and earth believing that Jesus is his risen son, shall... be... saved (Romans 10:9-10,13).

Exposing The False Doctrine of the Pre-Tribulational Rapture

Here is what an "interesting" prophecy site that is dedicated to
“Exposing The False Doctrine of the Pre-Tribulational Rapture” says:

..."Then" shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the
other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be
taken, and the other left. Matthew 24:40,41…But we'll already have
been raptured by then...right?<<

The answer to that question is "Yes!" We will have already been raptured out
by then.

In Luke 21:35-36, Jesus specifically tells us to pray that we will be
counted worthy to "escape" all these things that shall come to ensnare
the inhabitants of the whole earth.

Revelation 3:10 says we will be kept from the hour of temptation which
shall come upon all the world.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 says we are not appointed to wrath (and make no
mistake about it, The Great Tribulation is a time of unprecendented wrath).

According to 2 Corinthians 6:2, we are presently living in the time of
favor. Favor and wrath are certainly not synonymous.

The reference to the two in the field and two grinding at the mill is not
a reference to the rapture.

Luke 17:34-37 sheds some light on what the passage is referring to. Those
who are taken will be taken to where ever it is that the bodies are and to
where ever it is that eagles are gathered.

Ezekiel 39:4 and Revelation 19:21 tell us that both the bodies and the
eagles/ravenous birds/fowls of the air will be gathered on the mountains
of Israel at Armageddon.

It is a common assumption that the two men in bed, the two men in the field,
the two women at the mill where one is taken and the other left are
referencing the rapture, but that is simply not so...

The Rapture, according to 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 (and many other scriptural
evidences), is a pre-tribulational event.

Rapture Theory has Kidnapped Christianity

Here is a snippet of an email I received recently:
Quote: "The Rapture theory was developed in the 1830s by a young woman named Margaret McDonald, and now it has kidnapped Christianity. In no way does the Scripture ever say there is a rapture." End Quote

I for one am very saddened to read such things. But the sad fact is that this "No rapture" theory is being accepted so fast within the Body of Christ that, before too much more time passes, it may very well become the norm.

Of course the real opposition isn't to the fact that there is actually an event taught in the Bible that many call "the rapture." The opposition is to belief in the pre-tribulational timing of the event.

As to the theory that Margaret McDonald was the "mother of the rapture theory," that simply cannot be true for one very good reason--Margaret McDonald did not believe in or teach a pre-tribulational rapture. These are the last days, and there is no doubt that Bible Prophecy--especially the biblical doctrine of the rapture--is on trial. It does matter what we believe. And it is important to know why we believe it. The lattie-da attitude of "Oh well, we'll all find out one day," is not the attitude the Bible teaches us to have concerning the coming of our Lord. The Bible has much to say about it, Jesus had much to say about it. The rapture is that "Blessed Hope" the Bible speaks of.

One strong piece of evidence for a pre-tribulational Rapture is found in the order of the prophetic Feasts of the Lord:

The seven feasts of the Lord are all prophetic in nature. That means they all predict certain aspects of the redemption that came through Jesus Christ.

Of events that have already come to pass, we know they predicted the exact day of the event (though not the year), and they accurately predicted the exact order of the events (Hebrews 10.1, Galatians 3.24, Colossians 2.16-17).

The specific events predicted by these The Feasts of the Lord are as follows.
The death of Jesus Christ (Passover)

The fulfillment and putting away of the Law of Moses (Unleavened Bread)

The physical resurrection of Jesus Christ (First Fruits)

The time of Christ “In” You that began with the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost)

The resurrection of the dead and catching up of the living—the Rapture (Trumpets)

The Great Tribulation / The Time of Jacob’s Trouble (Day of Atonement)

The first 1000 years of Christ’s reign on earth (Tabernacles)

Every Feast of the Lord prophetically reveals some aspect of the redemption of our souls, bodies, and this earth through the resurrected Son of God. That, alone, is what is meant by Revelation 19.10 which says, “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Revelation 19.10 is not telling us that we should be obsessed with prophesying or with only studying Bible Prophecy, to the neglect of most other Biblical doctrine.

Each feast contains a clause that no servile work can be done while it is being observed. This is because each feast represents the finished work of Christ who brought grace (salvation apart from the works of the law) to us.

One clear statement pertaining to the prophetic nature of the Law of Moses is contained in Hebrews 10.1. This verse tells us that the things contained in the law were symbolic of good things to come.

It does need to be clarified, though, that although this study of Bible Prophecy is approached from the perspective of the Feasts of the Lord found in the Law of Moses, it is not approached from a uniquely Jewish perspective, i.e., that which evolved from Jewish culture, but rather from a strictly Biblical perspective.

The Jewish prophets and apostles were chosen to be the oracles of God, but the Bible—the Written Word of God—was dictated to them by the One who inhabits eternity. He who inhabits eternity is not bound by such limitations as earthly cultures, and the Word He dictated transcends all cultures—including the Jewish culture through which it came.

Although the scriptures are clear that we are to recognize the special place the Jewish people hold in the heart of God (and in his future plans for this earth)—we are not to be looking to their culture for things pertaining to LIFE and godliness.

Those things we find in their totality within the pages of the Written Word of God—the Bible (Isaiah 8.20, Psalms 138.2, John 17.17, Romans 10.17, 2 Peter 1.3).

Those who insist the scriptures cannot be properly understood outside of Jewish culture and perspective do err—not knowing the scriptures or the power of God.

All who elevate the Jewish culture above the written Word of God, the Bible, and the understanding of it promised through the Holy Spirit of God, are guilty of idolatry.
Jesus called those who elevated their own culture and traditions above the written Word of God, “Blind leaders of the blind.”

He called them beautifully decorated tombs full of dead men’s bones.

Jesus told the religious leaders of his day that if they did not know him—they certainly could not know his Father. For no man comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ—not even a Jewish man (Galatians 1.6-9, 3.1-29).

Jesus made it very clear that LIFE was not to be found within the Jewish culture of his day.

To date, that has not changed.

As it is written, all Israel shall be saved…ungodliness will be turned away from Jacob.

But that has not happened as yet, and until it does happen, we would do well to heed the words of the angel to Peter and John as they ran into the tomb seeking Jesus …

What Did Passover Predict?
The first Feast of the Lord is Passover, which represented and accurately predicted the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Not only was the Passover feast accurate in symbolically depicting the manner of the death of our Lord, it also accurately foretold the day of his death. Jesus died precisely on the day of Passover—the very feast that predicted his death.

The following is a comparison between the prophetic symbolism of the feast of Passover and the death of Jesus Christ-

Jesus was a male without blemish (he was perfect/sinless). According to 2 Corinthians 5.21 and Exodus 12.5, the Passover lamb was to be a male without blemish.

When was the Passover lamb to be killed? When was Jesus crucified? Compare Exodus 12.6 with John 19.14 (13-18).

The entire assembly was to kill their lamb at the same time. At the trial of Jesus, they all shouted, in unison, “Crucify him!” See Exodus 12.6 and Matthew 27.22 (22-25).
The lamb was to be roasted whole—completely intact. Were any of Jesus’ bones broken (Exodus 12.9, Psalm 34.20, John 19.33)?

Was any portion of the Passover lamb allowed to remain until the next morning? Was Jesus’ body allowed to remain on the cross till the next morning (Exodus 12.10, Mark 15.42-43 [42-46])?

In preparing the Passover lamb for roasting, two spits were used. One was thrust lengthwise through the body for support over the fire and the other across the shoulders for turning—symbolizing the cross upon which the Lamb of God was suspended.

The people were to take the blood of the sacrificed lamb and apply it to the doorposts of their homes. When God saw the blood, death would pass over that house (that is why this feast is called Passover). When we apply the blood of Jesus Christ to our hearts, through faith, God sees the blood, and death passes over us as well (Exodus 12.7, 13, Colossians 1.14).

John (who came baptizing), who all the Jewish people—except the corrupt leadership of the day—accepted as a prophet, identified Jesus as God’s Passover lamb (John 1.29, 1 Corinthians 5.7).

Because of the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Passover lamb, we no longer have to endure separation from the presence of God—either in this age or in the age to come.

If you have never applied the blood of Jesus (the Messiah) to the door of your heart and would like to accept the risen Son of God, the only Christ, as your savior, call on God for salvation right now. Do not put it off another second. Ask God to forgive your sins and save you through faith in the shed blood of his resurrected son (Romans 10.9-10, 13).

The feast of Passover accurately predicted both the time, the day (though not the year), and manner of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Likewise, each one of the other feasts of the Lord represents a very real event that has either already taken place or will shortly take place.

The feast of Passover predicted the literal death (by crucifixion) of Jesus Christ. Three more feasts have also seen their fulfillment. And three more predict events that are yet to come.

Jesus said by our words, we will be justified, or by our words, we will be condemned. That is a frightening thought for most of us. During the course of a lifetime we speak many words, and we do not always choose our words wisely.

The wisest choice of words we can ever make is to confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is the risen Son of God. If we come to God on those terms, with a truly repentant heart, we are promised eternal life. A broken and contrite heart, he will not despise.

Here is what it all boils down to. Our God is merciful and loving. He does not unnecessarily complicate things. We read in Romans 10. 9, 10, and 13, that if we confess with our mouth, words, that Jesus is the Son of God, and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead, and call on God to save us according to those terms,

In the Beginning Was the End: And after the end there is a new beginning

I love prowling through the book sections of thrift stores and yard sales. You never know what you might find for a dime! One of my recent treasures is a book entitled "In the Beginning Was the End" by Wim Malgo. I had never heard of the man before. But I won't forget him now that I've read his little book on Bible Prophecy.

I did some research on him after reading his book, and his doctrine seems to be biblically solid.

His writing is not stuffy and boring. In fact it is quite the opposite. In addition to being very dependent on scripture as he writes about Bible prophecy, he has a knack for incorporating relevant and fascinating world events into the narrative--while being careful not to use current events for interpreting scripture but Visa Versa as it should be.

And Amazon has In the Beginning Was the End beginning at .01 cent! Can you believe that?

How Close Are We? by Dave Hunt

I know this book was first published in 1993, but I have only just read it for the first time. I found Dave Hunt's writing, in How Close Are We, to be Biblical and insightful and relevant. In dealing--in detail--with the subject of the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ, He gave me much to chew on. As a student of Bible Prophecy and the author of "Redemption: Bible Prophecy Simplified," I appreciated his thorough and thoughtful treatment of the subject.

Bible Prophecy on Trial

How important to our over-all faith is having a good understanding of Bible prophecy?

In these last days, I am convinced that it is critical.

We know the very first generation of Christians were already being corrupted from the simplicity of Christ. The apostle Paul wrote to them (and to us) about it. He feared they were turning to another gospel which presented another Jesus.

Well hold onto your hats folks, because Christians today are defecting from the simplicity of Christ at lightning speed and in droves.

And when this begins to happen, it seems the first things to go are biblical faith concerning the rapture, the second coming of Christ and interest in the subject of Bible Prophecy in general.

It is reported that Mike Bickle, contemplative prayer proponent and one of the Kansas City Prophets, teaches that although he believes there is a rapture of the church, he believes that it happens over a period of time, in an extended process, rather than the sudden event described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (http://www.midnightcry.net/Prophets.htm).

Whether a Christian believes in a pre, mid or post tribulational rapture, Bickle's teaching on the subject is definitely a deviation from any school of thought concerning the event, and his view can certainly not be substantiated in scripture.

I was personally present when Christian Harfouche of Miracle Christian Center in Pensacola, Florida, insulted the traditional Bible-believers sitting in his congregation by telling them that their eschatology was getting in the way of their faith.

What a blatant admission that a solid understanding of Bible Prophecy is good protection against the deception being foisted on Christians by those involved in today's contemplative and/or prophetic, "Present Truth," ministries.

It is interesting to note that Christians who embrace contemplative spirituality which centers around contemplative prayer, a Christianized--unscriptural form of eastern meditation, do not necessarily accept The Prophetic Movement as legitimate.

But those who become involved in The Prophetic Movement all seem to eventually embrace the contemplative.

And a common denominator in both movements, in addition to exhibiting extreme ecumenism, is a major paradigm shift from depending on the written Word of God in determining truth, to embracing an experiential spirituality--deciding that what feels right must be truth--in spite of the fact that the Bible clearly says there is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12).

Add to these major shifts, a rejection of traditional, literal, belief in what the Bible teaches concerning the rapture of the Church and the second coming of Christ, and what we end up with are professing Christians with an extremely spiritualized view of Bible prophecy that in many cases ultimately manifests in a generalized lack of interest in the subject altogether--other than to ridicule those who do take an interest in it.

Rick Joyner, a leader in the Prophetic Movement, wrote in his book, The Harvest (1987), that although he had plenty of scripture to back up what he was writing, he was not going to use very much in his book.

He said he did this because he wanted the reader to "commune with the spirit for confirmation" of the truth of what he had written--not just read a bunch of "facts."

He undermined the written Word of God--the Bible, by reducing it to just a bunch of facts. And he elevated an unconfirmed spiritual experience above the factual truth of the Bible.

In his writing, Joyner affirms the importance to our over-all faith of having a correct understanding of Bible prophecy but ridicules the doctrine of the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) by calling it a ruse of the enemy designed to implant a retreat mentality (Rick Joyner, THE HARVEST 1989 /1990 revised booklet on pg.121).

He does this because the basic premise of what he teaches is based primarily on Dominion Theology, which corrupts and spiritualizes Bible teaching concerning:

The rapture of the Church
The future Kingdom of Christ
And the part God's people will play in the ruler-ship of that future kingdom

Therefore, it is necessary for Joyner to minimize the importance of depending upon the written Word of God for illumination and understanding, and to discourage a any serious study of Bible prophecy.

In his efforts to undermine the acquisition of sound doctrine concerning Biblical prophecy in general, Joyner writes that God is not interested in "impressing us with his ability to foretell the future."

That statement is diabolically opposed to the written Word of God which tells us it is exactly that ability which we can look to, and depend on, for proof that our God is indeed the only true God, and that his written Word is indeed the only "standard" by which we can measure what, and what is not...

Truth (Isaiah 48:3-5).

Where in Revelation chapter Four, Do You See the Church in Heaven?

The above question is a legitimate question.

The scenes in Chapters 4 and 5 of The Revelation are Heavenly scenes. We see the Church in Heaven (beforethe throne of God) in the reference to the 24 Elders (Rev 4:1-4).

The 24 elders are referred to inRevelation 5:8-9 as those who were “Redeemed From the Earth” (i.e., resurrected/raptured saints).

Everything else that happens on earth between Revelation chapter 5 and Revelation chapter 18, happens while the Church is in Heaven with Christ.
